BacXup.com is wholly owned by Integrated Technologies Inc. which originally began in 1975 as an electronics servicing and security installation company. In 1980 they began selling and servicing personal computers which is their primary business today.

As part of their service business they have seen many failed hard disk drives containing customer's unrecoverable data. It is the great cost of recovery and the major disappointment of clients when recovery fails that has prompted their efforts to create this simple, but reliable backup system.
